Sodium sulfate mainly has two forms：anhydrous sodium sulfate (also called sodium sulfate anhydrous or anhydrous glauber's salt, formula Na2SO4); sodium sulfate decahydrate, each molecule combined with ten water molecules, formula Na2SO4·10H2O.
Sodium sulfate anhydrous is odorless, bitter white crystal or powder, soluble in water. It is hygroscopic and absorbs moisture from air to deliquesce, so seal well during storage.
Glauber's salt is colorless transparent or off-white translucent irregular mass, odorless, salty taste, brittle, fragile and easily soluble in water.
