Water softener salt, also known as ion exchange resin regenerant, main component sodium chloride (NaCl), generally spherical pellet.

Working Principle：Raw water passes through resin, harmful impurity ions (mainly Ca²⁺, Mg²⁺) in water are adsorbed by resin to purify water. With the increase of treated water volume, more impurities are adsorbed and resin adsorption capacity declines. To remove adsorbed Ca²⁺ and Mg²⁺, sodium ions (Na⁺) are used for backwashing. Ion exchange replaces calcium and magnesium ions adsorbed on resin, restoring adsorption capacity of ion exchange resin, this process is resin regeneration.
